Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and food industry experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supervising team members, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining smooth restaurant operations during your shift. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient workflow during your shift
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling procedures
- Oversee customer service to ensure a positive dining experience and resolve any issues promptly
- Manage cash handling processes using Micros POS or similar systems with accuracy and integrity
- Enforce food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in compliance with health regulations
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new staff members to maintain high team performance
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with kitchen staff for timely replenishment of supplies
- Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times
- Support kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness in the food prep areas
Requirements
- Proven supervising or team management experience in the food service or hospitality industry
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling transactions
- Knowledge of restaurant management practices including customer service excellence and staff supervision
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interview and onboard new team members effectively
- Previous restaurant or hotel experience is highly desirable; barista experience or kitchen experience is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork, training, and motivating staff
- Familiarity with food industry regulations and hospitality standards
