Viking Technologies is a specialized service company providing installation, calibration, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support for hazardous gas monitoring and ventilation control systems throughout the Lower Mainland. Since 2013, we have worked with commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential companies to maintain critical life safety and environmental monitoring systems.
We are currently seeking a full-time Service Technician to join our growing field service team. This position is best suited to an individual with strong technical troubleshooting abilities, instrumentation or controls experience, and the ability to work independently in the field while managing service documentation and customer communication professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair hazardous gas monitoring and ventilation control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and functional testing of gas detection equipment, including carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, propane, and refrigerant monitoring systems.
- Diagnose system faults and perform technical troubleshooting of sensors, transmitters, controllers, relays, and associated control equipment.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, control drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
- Complete calibration reports, service documentation, deficiency reports, and related field paperwork accurately.
- Coordinate with customers, property managers, mechanical contractors, and internal staff regarding service requirements and system operation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, manufacturer requirements, and company procedures.
- Assist with equipment preparation, inventory management, parts coordination, and project support as required.
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Red Seal certification in a related trade is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in instrumentation, controls, HVAC/refrigeration controls, gas detection systems, electrical service, or industrial/mechanical troubleshooting is required
- Strong technical, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls efficiently.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Comfortable working at various sites (commercial, industrial, and municipal)
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
