As our presence in Atlantic Canada continues to grow, we are committed to building even stronger, long-term relationships with brokers across the region. We are looking for a driven, growth-minded Business Development Manager to help us expand our reach and further elevate the broker experience.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager, Private Mortgages to drive mortgage origination from licensed mortgage brokers and agents throughout Atlantic Canada.
In this pivotal role, you will spend most of your work week on the road meeting brokers, developing referral relationships, attending industry events, and building Indigoblue’s brand presence across the region. You will also collaborate with our Toronto office to strategize with leadership and coordinate with our underwriting and credit teams.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, uncapped commission, health benefits, and mileage reimbursement for business travel.
Key Responsibilities
Broker Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with mortgage brokers, brokerages, and agents to increase private mortgage application volume.
Market Development: Identify and onboard new broker partners, with a focus on Atlantic Canada as a key region for growth.
Product Promotion: Deliver compelling presentations and training sessions on Indigoblue’s private mortgage products, lending criteria, and broker services.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to set quarterly and annual sales targets and identify emerging market opportunities.
Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor products, market trends, and evolving regulations, and share insights to help refine product offerings and pricing.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with marketing, underwriting, and credit teams to support smooth application processes and timely deal execution.
Pipeline and Forecasting: Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide regular updates on leads, broker activity, forecasts, and closed deals.
Brand Ambassador: Represent Indigoblue at industry conferences, trade shows, broker events, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility.
Qualifications
2 to 3 years of experience in mortgage sales, private lending, alternative lending, broker relationship management, underwriting, business development, or financial services.
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
Existing relationships with mortgage brokers, agents, brokerages, or related mortgage industry professionals are considered a strong asset.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to explain mortgage products, lending criteria, and financing concepts clearly and professionally.
Comfort with underwriting basics, risk assessment, and mortgage deal structuring.
Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and mortgage or underwriting software.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Atlantic Canada.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for business travel.
What We Offer
Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Base salary of $55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission and health benefits.
