About the Role
As a Senior Accountant you are a team player, friendly, and eager to accept the next challenge. This is a full-time position based on a 37.5 hours per week at our office in Pincher Creek, Alberta.
What your day will look like
- Prepare Compilation and Review engagement working papers and financial information statements
- Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns
- Prepare Canadian personal tax returns
- Prepare Canadian trust tax returns
- Various correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency regarding inquiries, limited review processed, post-assessments, audits etc.
- Preparation of T4, T4A, T5, T5018 and other slips
- Limited bookkeeping and controller functions
- Prepare or review GST returns
- Prepare Underused Housing Tax Returns
- Possible training of new staff and / or file reviews; and
- Assist partners as required.
What you need to Succeed
- Hold a CPA designation or CPA candidate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Public Practice CPA firm
- Proficient in CaseWare, Taxcycle, Quickbooks, Sage50, Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Reliable with minimal absenteeism
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
