We are seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of human resources and payroll functions, ensuring employees receive accurate and timely support while maintaining compliance with company policies and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for employees and management, helping to foster positive working relationships and support organizational goals through effective HR and payroll administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process payroll, ensuring employee hours, earnings, deductions, and records are accurate and up to date.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, and act as a liaison with benefit providers.
- Maintain accurate employee files and HR records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including posting job opportunities, scheduling interviews, preparing employment documentation, and facilitating new employee orientation.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll and HR-related inquiries from employees, government agencies, and external organizations, including CRA and WCB.
- Prepare and maintain HR and payroll reports, documentation, and records as required.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and company events.
- Assist with the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Perform other administrative and human resources duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources, completed or in progress.
- Intermediate knowledge of Manitoba Employment Standards and payroll legislation.
- Experience working with payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
