We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven individual to assist our HR department with People and culture Coordinator - related tasks. Reporting directly to the College Director, the People and culture Coordinator provides support to all activities related to talent acquisition, Employee Relations and Business Development.
You will be a team member that strives to bring the best talents to the College. We need someone dynamic, proactive, professional, organized and who loves to meet new people and have fun with challenges.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Staffing and Recruitment Support (as directed)
- Support recruiting efforts by screening resumes on job boards, conducting phone pre-screens,
arranging interviews and conducting reference and/or background verifications.
- Post (internal) job opportunities and assist with screening internal posting applicants.
- Track weekly temp labour hours and cost based on timecard submissions
- Attend job fairs as required.
HR Dashboards, Payroll & Database Upkeep
- Review bi-weekly timecards of employees, ensure no outstanding actions needed.
Attendance system.
- Track, document, and ensure all applicable paperwork is completed for organizational changes,
i.e position transfers/promotions etc.
- Assist with payroll inquiries from employees and leaders.
- Compile reports to support HR initiatives as needed.
- Participate in the HR team’s special development project when required.
- Track and update online HR tools and various databases.
Onboard New Hires, Off-boarding
- Sending out “Welcome” communication with new hire paperwork to new employee
- Create new hire packages, review new hire documents filled out by new hire, set up new hire
into all Heritage college systems including payroll system, HR download and Homebase.
- Work with IT to ensure appropriate security badge, hardware, phone, email and systems access
has been added (new hires) and disconnected (departures)
Training
- Coordinate external training with third party vendor based on the needs of the business.
- Schedule training with employees and leaders in calendars.
- Track all training completed in the training matrix, review upcoming training that is expiring and work
with HRBP and Managers to re-train employees as needed.
- Schedule compliance training
Health & Safety
- Participate on joint health and safety committee by taking meeting minutes and following up on
activities
- Coordinate with business partners events and activities to increase our involvement with them.
- Attend and plan job fairs.
- Communication with non-profit organizations about their activities and programs
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Degree in Human Resources or business from a Canadian institution.
- Interest in advertising and fast fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information.
- Detail oriented, organized and proactive.
- Knowledge of MS office Suite tools
- Knowledge of best practices in human resources and talent acquisition.
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
