This is a senior role suited for a confident professional who can manage corporate files with minimal supervision and provide guidance and support to lawyers and junior team members.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will:
provide comprehensive support to the firm’s clients in all aspects of corporate transactions, including asset and
- purchases and sales, reorganizations, and financings;
- independently complete incorporations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, dissolutions, revivals, and reorganizations of Provincial and Federal entities;
- conduct and coordinate due diligence reviews;
- prepare and file PPSA registrations and related searches;
- review, organize, and maintain complex corporate minute books;
- assist lawyers with transactional closings and post-closing matters;
- record billable and non-billable time in accordance with firm standards;
- provide supervision, mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior staff where appropriate; and
- perform other related duties as required
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a Paralegal or Legal Assistant diploma, or post-secondary education in a related field.
- Minimum five years of corporate paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate statutes, filings, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and experience working with corporate database and legal document management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Cox & Palmer, PEI provides competitive compensation and benefits package including:
- wage range – $60,000 – 85,000 annually which is determined by experience;
