Shuck Taylor's, is an oyster house that's open 7 days a week for lunch through dinner. We focus on crustaceans and mollusks. Our passion for shellfish is constant, genuine, and infectious. We’ll play favorites but our menu will change with the tides.
Shuck Taylor’s is looking for line cooks to form a killer kitchen crew for the summer. The ideal candidates will be passionate, professional and FUN.
Duties for Line Cooks:
- Prepare ingredients, cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
- Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
- Set up and clean station according to restaurant standard
- Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment and food storage areas
- Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
- Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products with the upmost respect for seafood
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
- Food Safe certification
Qualifications for Line Cook:
- Team-oriented, positive, flexible attitude
- A curiosity about sea creatures and a menu that incorporates BC Intertidal zone
- 1-4 years of cooking experience
- Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Must be organized, self-motivated and a clear communicator
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
