We are a luxury dog daycare/boarding facility located in south east Edmonton. In addition to daycare and boarding, we offer some training, photography, and more.
This position will be responsible for not only watching groups of dogs, but actively engaging with them in a positive way. Knowing canine body language and group dog experience is important for this position. Tasks will include, but are not limited to: caring for a group of dogs by ensuring they are safe and having a positive socialization experience, cleaning both indoors and outdoors (e.g. picking up animal waste, ensuring areas are disinfected and tidied daily), caring for the dogs by brushing/cleaning them up if dirty, and helping out with some customer service (taking quality photos of the dog groups, talking to clients when needed). The right candidate would be able to multi task and work independently with a group of animals while being able to take direction well from others.
We are located on 2.5 acres of land so you will be outside for a large portion of the day and must be comfortable in doing so... dress warm in winter! This also means that you must be comfortable with standing and walking for long periods.
All applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays.
The ideal candidate will:
- have experience in a dog daycare/kennel setting (we are not accepting applicants without this at this time)
- need to know canine body language
- be very reliable- we are a small business and care for live animals so this is important! Excessive missed shifts and tardiness will be grounds for dismissal.
- be kind, caring, responsible, and demonstrate honesty
- be able to take direction and also be independent.
- be able to communicate well in a team environment.
Benefits and additional perks are available after 6 months of employment.
Please note this property is non-smoking.
