The Role:
We are seeking a Mobile Heavy Equipment Maintenance Lead to support fixed and mobile equipment across multiple recycling yards in NS, NB, and PEI. This hands-on, mobile leadership role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing downtime, and maintaining consistent maintenance standards across all locations.
This role does not include maintenance of vehicles, trucks, or trailers.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs
Troubleshoot equipment issues and oversee repairs
Coordinate maintenance across multiple yard locations
Supervise contractors and ensure safety compliance
Conduct equipment inspections and support operator training
Maintain maintenance records and documentation
Manage vendors and monitor maintenance costs
Qualifications and Skills:
5+ years’ experience in heavy industrial, recycling, or manufacturing maintenance
Strong knowledge of equipment such as shears, balers, loaders, forklifts, skid steers and excavators
Ability to work independently across multiple locations
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience supervising contractors and trades
Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel within Atlantic Canada
Technical diploma or certification preferred
MaintainX experience an asset
