Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, technical guidance, and engagement of the Porter Technical Operations Engineering Team. This role will also require technical operational assistance, aircraft specification management, and configuration control across Porter's DHC-8-400 and E195-E2 fleets.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work on individual projects or as part of a group in all areas of aircraft modification and repair projects for our fleet of Embraer E195 E2 and DHC-8-400 aircraft.

Support in interfacing directly with De Havilland of Canada, Embraer, Equipment Suppliers, TCCA/ANAC, and subcontractors in support of fleet reliability, performance and safety.

Perform on-site engineering support for aircraft repairs, modification, certification testing, etc.. as required.

Effectively communicate with our line and heavy maintenance teams and manage engineering design changes during aircraft modifications.

Review, Assess and Implement various Continuing Airwothiness documents from the OEM or Regulatory Authority.

Assist various internal customers with technical queries.

Preparation of engineering and airworthiness documentation from modification conceptualization to final approval.

Perparation and presentation of various engineering analysis and reports clearly documenting methodology, assumptions, reference data, margins of safety etc.

Airworthiness Approval Documentation.

Assist with the training and development of junior engineers

Manage Engineering publications in Porter's MIS.

Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations, understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in a technical role supporting aircraft development, modification, and/or repair

A minimum of 1 year work experience in a role supervising a technical/engineering team

A bachelor's degree in engineering required - preferably Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

Knowledge of airworthiness regulations and standards from Transport Canada, FAA and/or EASA and the methods of airworthiness compliance to the regulations is preferred

Knowledge and direct experience in Design Approval Organization (DAO) activities is preferred

Experience with cad software is preferred

Experience in one or more of the following is required: Structures, Avionics, Cabin Systems, Hydro-Mechanical Systems

Experience in preparation of engineering reports, LOPA management/creation and maintenance review board presentations

Experience with aircraft procedures and publications such as AMM, SRM, AFM, IPC, scheduled maintenance, etc.

Experience in generating aircraft technical publications

Excellent organization and time management skills to be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent verbal communication, writing and publication skills with strong attention to details

Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Knowledge of AMOS considered an asset

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills

Valid passport and ability to travel an asset
