Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Seasonal Labourer and Stall Cleaning Assistant to support our farm operations during peak seasons. We are an English Riding Facility that has is under construction and renovation. We show in both dressage and hunter/jumpers and offer coaching by an Equestrian Canada certified instructor. We also breed Warmblood horses for jumping and dressage. There is a possibility to bring a personal horse. This role involves maintaining cleanliness of stalls, assisting with farm maintenance, and supporting various projects and tasks. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about horses, fencing, farm machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in farm operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and bedding of horse stalls
- Assist with the setup/take down of equestrian jumps in the arena
- Support employer with fencing and labour projects
- Operate basic farm machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
- Perform light maintenance tasks using hand tools and basic repair techniques
- Assist with general farm chores including heavy lifting of supplies or equipment
- Support plant care activities such as watering, pruning, and soil preparation
- Help with the operation of heavy equipment as needed under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment throughout shifts
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge with horses, or farm maintenance is a plus but not required
- Must have a pleasant and respectful attitude and be reliable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with farm machinery is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during the season
- Strong work ethic, attention to safety procedures, and willingness to learn new skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor tasks effectively
This position is ideal for individuals interested in horses and building an equine business. It is also a great position for those interested in earning money while learning basic fencing and farming skills. May be possible to evolve into a full or part time permanent position.
Pay: $15.96-$18.00 per hour
