Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and safe delivery of packages, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of shipments. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various types of equipment as needed. The Courier Driver plays a vital part in our logistics operations, supporting efficient distribution and service delivery.
Duties
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver packages to designated locations within assigned routes
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or heavy equipment when necessary
- Verify shipment contents against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered during routes
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks; report any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with freight handling, including loading, securing, and unloading cargo using proper techniques
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure safe transportation at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or courier services preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other freight handling machinery
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for minor troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Excellent time management skills to adhere to delivery schedules
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; appropriate certifications for heavy equipment operation are a plus
