Swamper/Labourer
Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and physically capable Swamper/Labourer to support our oilfield maintenance construction and heavy equipment operations. This role involves assisting skilled lead hands, operators, handling various equipment, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in demanding conditions. Prior oilfield maintenance or heavy equipment experience is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to learn.
Duties
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, and forklifts
- Support rigging and load securing procedures for horizontal drilling and other projects
- Perform general labour tasks including site cleanup, material handling, and debris removal
- Operate commercial vehicles for transporting equipment or materials as needed
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment at all times
- Support team members with tasks requiring mechanical knowledge or specialized skills in oil & gas or construction projects
- Assist with the movement of tools, supplies, and heavy equipment around the job site
Requirements
- Basic oilfield maintenance, mechanical knowledge and familiarity with heavy equipment operation preferred
- Experience with commercial driving, rigging, or crane operation is advantageous
- Oilfield Maintenance, and construction experience or background in oil & gas industries is highly desirable
- Ability to operate forklifts and other industrial machinery safely
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL license is a plus with clean drivers abstract
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks in various weather conditions
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and prioritize safety at all times
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles on-site
- ability to pass a drug or alcohol test is a must
