The Banquet Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests during banquet events while ensuring responsible alcohol service and exceptional guest experiences. The Banquet Bartender will set up and stock the bar prior to the event and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the function. Following the event, they will complete bar inventory, breakdown, and cleanup procedures. More broadly, the Banquet Bartender works closely with other members of the banquet team to provide guests with outstanding service and contribute to the success of each event.
Responsibilities
- Bar Service Execution – event-specific beverage service in accordance with event requirements and company standards;
- Properly set up, stock, and organize the bar before service begins, assist with room set up/teardown once bar duties are completed;
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely manner; advise guests on beverage selections and take drink orders;
- Guest Support – respond to guest requests, monitor guest satisfaction whenever possible, and provide friendly, professional service throughout the event;
- Responsible Alcohol Service – verify identification when required and ensure alcohol is served responsibly in accordance with applicable laws and company policies;
- Bar Maintenance & Inventory Control – maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, monitor stock levels, replenish supplies as needed, and report inventory shortages to management;
- Clearing & Event Reset/Turnover – ensure the cleanliness of the bar, service areas, and storage areas before, during, and after events; complete bar breakdown and cleanup procedures following each event, assist with room set up/teardown once bar duties are completed;
- Assist the manager with beverage billing, cash handling, consumption reporting, and payment processing when required;
- Perform any other related duties necessary to ensure the smooth operation of service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of bartending experience;
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform banquet setup and breakdown duties
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Strong interest in teamwork;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good organizational skills;
- Availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends;
- Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written.
