Job Summary
As a Sales Consultant at Acura Sherway, you will serve as the first point of contact between our clients and the dealership. You will promote and sell new and pre-owned vehicles, accessories, and services while building and maintaining long-term client relationships. Through a consultative sales approach, you will anticipate clients’ vehicle needs, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and consistently meet or exceed customer satisfaction and sales targets. This role requires adherence to Acura brand standards, dealership processes, and OMVIC regulations while managing the complete sales cycle from initial contact through vehicle delivery and ongoing client retention.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
Ask qualifying questions to understand client needs and recommend appropriate vehicle options.
Meet and exceed vehicle sales targets while maintaining high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for Acura vehicles, accessories, products, and services.
Manage the full sales process, including:
Building rapport and understanding client needs.
Conducting vehicle presentations and demonstrations.
Locating suitable vehicles through available inventory and product resources.
Determining fair and equitable trade-in values.
Facilitating a seamless and professional purchase experience.
Coordinating thorough vehicle deliveries that exceed client expectations.
Establishing ongoing consultative relationships after the sale.
Close sales effectively while maintaining profitability and understanding financing and insurance options.
Handle client inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, ensuring resolutions exceed expectations.
Follow up with prospects and undecided clients using phone calls, email, direct mail, and personalized communications.
Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, personal marketing initiatives, direct outreach, and community involvement.
Follow up on all dealership-generated leads, including Acura leads, website inquiries, walk-ins, lease maturity reports, prospect reports, call centre leads, referrals, and aftersales opportunities.
Maintain accurate CRM records, client histories, and follow-up activities.
Stay current on Acura products, inventory, market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing strategies.
Complete all Acura brand-required and legislative training programs.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary education in an automotive, business, or related program, or a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Sales Consultant in an automotive environment.
Valid OMVIC license or ability to obtain one.
Valid Class G Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
Previous experience in a customer service-focused role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong listening, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership software systems.
Proven ability to build relationships and engage effectively with clients.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
Team-oriented with the ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work evenings and Saturdays.
Working Hours & Conditions
Full-time, permanent position, 40 hours per week.
Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays.
Schedule will be based on dealership operating hours and business needs.
Fast-paced dealership environment requiring adaptability and multitasking.
Frequent interaction with clients, managers, and multiple dealership departments.
Exposure to vehicle showroom and lot conditions, including varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Dynamic priorities and deadlines with frequent interruptions.
