Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver with Ontario AR or AZ License to join our team driving our single axle multi-lift, bin truck.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently from quarry's to various jobsite withing 150km of Port Carling, Ontario. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and excellent customer service.
Priority given to candidates with equipment operation experience. Position is for seasonal trucking/ delivery throughout spring, summer and fall with optional snow clearing operation provided throughout the winter for year round work.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment to transport landscaping supplies/ equipment to designated locations in a timely manner (Skid steers and Excavators).
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, time, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with management and customers.
- Follow all safety protocols while driving and operating equipment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Skills
- 2 years experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including skidsteer/ excavators for loading and unloading cargo/ equipment.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology effectively.
- Strong ability to follow directions and instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members, dispatchers, and customers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
