Job Title: Internal Audit Analyst

Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for an Internal Audit Analyst to join their team.

Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and report on internal audits in accordance with IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.
Perform risk assessments to identify key business, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
Evaluate both the design effectiveness and operating effectiveness of controls.
Conduct independent audit and SOX testing and complete work within established timelines.
Perform interviews, documentation reviews, walkthroughs, and data analysis to gather audit evidence.
Maintain risk assessments for assigned processes and identify opportunities for control improvements.
Track remediation activities and perform follow-up testing on identified deficiencies.
Prepare audit and SOX deficiency reports for management and executive leadership.
Collaborate with Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Second Line of Defense functions.
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Controls, or Compliance.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience preparing professional reports, presentations, and deliverables for senior leadership audiences.
Familiarity with audit analytics tools such as Power BI (preferred).
Experience with audit management systems .
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to assess risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to simplify and communicate complex audit, risk, and compliance topics effectively.
Highly adaptable and team-oriented with strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.
Ability to build trust and maintain open communication throughout audit engagements.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
