The Material Handler works on the production floor and warehouse of a busy manufacturing facility moving product and various materials to different areas.
Major Areas of Responsibilities

Operate Forklift, bed movers (certification required), handcarts, and hydraulic jacks

Daily inspection of forklift and bed movers

Responsible for up-keep of forklift
-
Safe transport and storage of goods received, coils, boxes, etc.

Weigh coil & accurate documentation
-
Packaging product
-
Stacking goods on skids
-
Distributing raw materials to production lines in a timely fashion

Inventory / cycle counts as required
-
Moving of all finished product to shipping areas
-
Depositing of metal scrap in appropriate bins – steel and aluminum
-
Proper stock rotation of all materials used for production. Oldest used first
-
General housekeeping of work area
-
Other duties as required

Education/Certification/Experience

Forklift and bedmover experience (3 years) and certification

Previous manufacturing experience (asset)

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will have exposure to a production facility with operating machinery, mechanical parts and moving vehicles. The noise level in this environment is moderate, and can reach very high levels in the production plant when certain machinery is running. Some areas of this environment are exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Newmarket Plant:
5:00am-3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
6:00am-3:00pm Monday – Friday
7:00am-4:00pm Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m.- 4:30pm Monday - Friday
Saturdays and overtime as needed
