About Us
We're a growing live events company that produces consumer shows, expos, conventions, markets, and community events across Ontario.
Unlike many event companies, we've invested heavily in building our own technology, systems, and operational infrastructure. We're now looking for someone to build and own the marketing function that will support our continued growth.
This is not a traditional marketing manager role.
We're looking for someone who thinks like an owner—someone who enjoys building systems, solving customer acquisition problems, testing ideas, analyzing performance, and continuously improving results.
If you enjoy creating order from complexity and measuring success by business outcomes rather than marketing activity, we'd like to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You will become the owner of customer acquisition across our portfolio of events.
You'll work directly with the founder to build a scalable marketing function capable of supporting regional expansion, sponsorship sales, event marketing services, and future growth initiatives.
Initially, you'll be both strategist and operator.
Over time, you'll help build the systems, documentation, dashboards, and team that allow the marketing department to scale.
What You'll Do
Customer Acquisition
- Own customer acquisition across our portfolio of live events.
- Develop and execute paid advertising strategies.
- Create, launch, manage, and optimize advertising campaigns.
- Continuously improve customer acquisition costs and campaign performance.
- Manage advertising budgets and recommend allocation across projects.
Creative Strategy
- Develop messaging and campaign concepts.
- Write and refine advertising copy.
- Build creative testing frameworks.
- Direct graphic designers on required assets.
- Review creative work based on marketing performance rather than aesthetics.
- Generate and prioritize new creative experiments.
Analytics & Reporting
- Build and maintain marketing dashboards.
- Monitor KPIs across campaigns.
- Analyze advertising performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Report on campaign results and recommend strategic changes.
- Improve attribution, tracking, and reporting systems.
Marketing Systems
- Build repeatable marketing processes.
- Develop SOPs and documentation.
- Create scalable workflows.
- Identify opportunities for automation.
- Help build a marketing function that can grow with the business.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations to align marketing with event timelines.
- Coordinate campaign launches across multiple events.
- Support audience analysis for sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
You'll be responsible for improving metrics such as:
- Customer acquisition cost
- Cost per registration
- Return on ad spend
- Registration volume
- Landing page conversion rate
- Campaign testing velocity
- Marketing reporting quality
- Marketing process maturity
What We're Looking For
We're much more interested in ownership and judgment than formal credentials.
The ideal candidate has experience:
- Owning marketing performance rather than simply executing tasks.
- Managing Meta advertising campaigns.
- Writing effective advertising copy.
- Developing marketing strategy.
- Analyzing marketing data.
- Building dashboards and reporting systems.
- Running structured marketing experiments.
- Directing designers and creative production.
- Working independently in fast-moving environments.
Experience with live events, ticketing, consumer marketing, entertainment, or e-commerce is an asset but not required.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- You naturally think in terms of experiments and continuous improvement.
- You enjoy solving complex customer acquisition problems.
- You're equally comfortable analyzing data and writing ad copy.
- You can zoom out strategically while still executing when needed.
- You like building functions, not just maintaining them.
- You thrive in environments where your work has a direct impact on company growth.
Hiring Process
Qualified candidates will be invited to complete a practical marketing exercise using one of our real events. The goal isn't to test memorized knowledge—it's to understand how you think, solve problems, and approach customer acquisition.
