Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Landoll/Float Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating specialized trailers, known as Landolls, and float equipment/heavy machinery, oversized loads, and freight across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation will ensure efficient deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Landoll trailers to float equipment and oversized freight over short and long distances.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate tie-downs, straps/chains, and safety devices to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Coordinate with dispatchers to ensure on time deliveries and pick ups are met
- Maintain accurate logs, run sheets and delivery documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, provincial, and local transportation regulations, including hours of service rules.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating Landoll trailers or similar flatbed/float equipment with a strong safety record.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Demonstrated proficiency in heavy equipment operation
- Ability to perform detailed inspections and identify mechanical issues promptly.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures, securing loads effectively for safe transport.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members, dispatchers, and clients.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb onto trailers, and perform manual tasks as required.
