We are seeking two dedicated Dairy Farm Workers to join our team at Dirian Dairy Inc. in Atwood, ON Canada. This role is vital in supporting our daily operations and maintaining the high standards of our farm. The Farm Worker will contribute to the care of our livestock and the upkeep of farm equipment.
Job Duties:
- Monitoring robotic milking systems to ensure proper operation and cow traffic flow
- Assisting cows with entry into robotic milking units when required
- Cleaning and sanitizing robotic milking equipment and barn areas according to farm procedures
- Identifying and reporting animal health concerns such as illness and injury
- Calving, ensuring calf health, and feeding calves
- Assisting with feeding, bedding, and general barn maintenance as required, along with all general farm duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm buildings, yards, and surrounding property
- Assist with outdoor farm labour including picking stones from fields and maintaining laneways and work areas
- Operate basic farm equipment and tools safely
- Following all farm policies, biosecurity protocols, and health and safety procedures
- Working independently during assigned shifts and cooperatively with other farm workers
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to work full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working in barn conditions
Applicants require no formal education; however, they must have a minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of hands-on agricultural experience to ensure they are familiar with livestock, agricultural practices, job duties, and the working conditions associated with the position. Wage & Vacancies:
$18.50 per hour working full time with an average 45-60 hours per week.
