Walsten Marine is a busy Marine Dealership and we are seeking a Marine Mechanic / Apprentice to join our service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and seasonal servicing
- Diagnose, repair and maintain marine outboards, sterndrives and inboard engines
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques
- Repair or replace faulty components
- Electrical and electronic boat systems repairs
- Steering, fuel and cooling systems
- Conduct engine tune-ups and performance testing
- Install marine accessories and equipment
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and impact wrenches
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to document work performed and collaborate with colleagues
