Foremost is seeking a Junior Engineer to join our Energy and Agriculture Design Team at our Lloydminster, Alberta facility reporting into our Engineering Manager.

As a Junior Engineer, you will work under the guidance and mentorship of a Professional Engineer who is committed to supporting your professional growth. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, stress analysis, code interpretation, CAD modeling, and project collaboration while contributing to the development of innovative industrial equipment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to see your ideas come to life—from concept and design through manufacturing and production. Over time, you will build the competencies and experience needed to pursue your Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and advance your career within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design industrial equipment using a variety of engineering tools, including Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD), Autodesk Nastran (FEA), and other industry-specific software.
- Perform mechanical design and analysis of pressure vessels, tanks, piping systems, and steel structures.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve manufacturing processes, tools, and procedures.
- Research industry standards, codes, specifications, materials, and manufacturing methods to support product development and continuous improvement.
- Optimize product designs with a focus on safety, manufacturability, quality, and customer experience.
- Provide technical support to Proposals, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams.
- Participate in engineering projects and contribute to the successful delivery of customer solutions.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA (preferred).
- Previous engineering, co-op, internship, or related experience is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn, develop, and take on new challenges.
