We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and professional Dispatch Supervisor / Dispatch Instructor to join our growing logistics academy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training and mentoring new dispatchers, drivers, owner-operators, and logistics professionals while contributing to the growth of our educational programs and online presence.
This position combines instructional leadership with industry expertise, requiring strong knowledge of transportation operations, dispatch software, freight management, and carrier compliance. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching both in-person and online, creating educational content, and appearing in marketing and training videos.
Compensation is structured as a base hourly wage plus performance-based commissions, with opportunities available for both employees and incorporated contractors.
Responsibilities
- Train and mentor students, drivers, owner-operators, and newcomers entering the dispatching industry.
- Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on dispatch training programs.
- Develop and update course materials, training resources, and dispatch procedures.
- Teach freight management, load booking, carrier communication, and transportation operations.
- Demonstrate the use of dispatch and transportation software, including DAT, Loadlink, BorderConnect, TMS platforms, and ACI/ACE eManifest systems.
- Guide students on industry best practices, documentation requirements, and customer service standards.
- Assist with student evaluations, coaching, and career development.
- Create educational and promotional content for social media platforms.
- Participate in video recording, live sessions, webinars, and marketing campaigns representing the academy.
- Maintain industry knowledge and stay current with transportation regulations and market trends.
- Support academy growth initiatives and contribute ideas for new training programs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dispatcher, Dispatch Supervisor, Fleet Manager, Freight Broker, or Logistics Coordinator.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- DAT Load Board
- Loadlink
- BorderConnect
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- ACI/ACE eManifest procedures
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and appearing on camera for training and social media content.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Professional customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to motivate and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online learning platforms is considered an asset.
Additional Assets
The following qualifications will be considered strong assets:
- Accounting or bookkeeping knowledge related to trucking and transportation businesses.
- Safety and compliance experience, including Hours of Service (HOS), audits, driver qualification files, and fleet compliance.
- Experience managing dispatch teams or supervising logistics operations.
- Social media content creation, video editing, or digital marketing experience.
- Sales or business development experience within the transportation industry.
Compensation & Work Schedule
- Base hourly pay plus commission structure.
- Incorporated contractors are welcome to apply.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Full-time and contract opportunities may be available based on experience and qualifications.
