Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of deli foods, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service or the food industry, with strong skills in food handling, cashiering, and sanitation. Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli products according to company standards, including slicing meats and cheeses, making sandwiches, and packaging food items
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for processing transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and making change with basic math skills
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their selections, answering questions, and upselling products when appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Manage inventory levels of deli products, restocking as needed to ensure product availability
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to maintain quality and safety standards
- Assist in kitchen tasks related to food preparation and serving in a fast-paced environment
- Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods while maintaining high-quality service
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred; restaurant experience or kitchen background is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar cash register technology
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience in upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and excellent service standards
