General Labourer – Road Construction
Location: Whitby, Ontario

About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Crack Filler & Line Painter to join our road construction team. This position involves operating specialized equipment to perform asphalt crack sealing and pavement line painting on municipal roads, highways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and enjoys working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform asphalt crack sealing using hot rubberized crack filler equipment.
- Operate line painting equipment to apply road markings, parking lot lines, crosswalks, and pavement symbols.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, blowing, and inspecting pavement before application.
- Load, unload, and maintain materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with traffic control setup and removal.
- Follow project specifications, measurements, and layout plans.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Complete daily inspections and report equipment issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial road construction regulations.
- Assist with other road construction duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in crack sealing, pavement marking, road construction, or asphalt maintenance is considered an asset.
- Experience operating line striping or crack sealing equipment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license (DZ license is an asset).
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Willingness to work, weekends, and travel when required.
