Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Workers to help children with diverse needs have a fun play time along with their peers during our summer camp. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, and those requiring temporary relief for their primary caregivers. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling children with diverse needs, energetic, compassionate and possess a genuine desire to assist children in a social play setting. This position is paid and involves working with various therapeutic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring children during play time at the gym floor.
- Helping them with activities to help them develop social skills and motor skills.
- Work and assist children on theme based craft based on the decided theme.
- Assist children with feeding and toileting if they need assistance.
- Motivate and encourage children to participate in physical activities to develop their motor skills.
- De-escalate any challenging situations and help regulate the child.
- Assist children to use the equipment successfully and might need lifting the children.
- Follow all safety protocols related to infection control, sickness, and client privacy
Qualifications
- Experience in handling children with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of working with children with autism and other diverse conditions.
- Ability to perform lifting the child safely when required
- Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid background check and FirstAid/CPR is mandatory.
- Availability for weekday evenings is a requirement.
