PR Engineering is a long-standing Canadian manufacturer specializing in heavy-duty mining and aggregate equipment. For more than 60 years, we have manufactured, rebuilt, and serviced large industrial machinery and components from our facility in Oshawa, Ontario.
Our work is heavy industrial manufacturing. We regularly machine large, high-value components using heavy machine tools, cranes, rigging equipment, and specialized tooling. Because of the size and weight of the components we handle, safety is paramount in everything we do.
The Position
PR Engineering is looking for Machinists to join our manufacturing team.
We are interested in both experienced machinists who are comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment and recent graduates or young tradespeople who are eager to learn, develop their skills, and build a long-term career in machining.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in producing large, precision-machined components.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machine tools.
- Machine large industrial components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
- Assist with the setup, positioning, and handling of large workpieces.
- Work safely around overhead cranes, rigging, lifting equipment, and heavy components.
- Inspect completed work and maintain a high standard of quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with other machinists, welders, fitters, supervisors, and management.
- Identify problems and communicate concerns before they become safety or quality issues.
- Follow all PR Engineering safety procedures and safe-work practices.
What We're Looking For
Experienced Applicants
- Previous machining experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience machining large components is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, measurement, and tolerances.
- Ability to independently read and work from engineering drawings.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Recent Graduates / Developing Machinists
We also encourage applications from recent graduates of machining, manufacturing, or related skilled-trades programs.
You do not need decades of experience to join our team. We are looking for people who are:

Pay: $24.00-$31.00 per hour
