Frame Game Construction Ltd. is a fast-growing construction company based in Surrey, BC. We have employment opportunity for a Carpenter
Job Duties
- Construct, erect, install, maintain and repair structures and components of structures made of wood
- Precisely measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes,lightweight steel and the framing lumber needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculaterequirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring toolsInterpreting drawings from architects and foremen, and applying that information to the creation of astructure that meets all necessary building codes
- Build stairs, doors, windows and other structures of wood in buildingsFit and install trim items, such as stairs, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate homes and other commercial establishmentsFollow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Prepare cost estimates for clientsOperate power or manual toolsEmployment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school will be required
- Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over two to four yearsof work experience in the trade
- Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Working setting: The candidate should be available to work part-time or full-time.
- Requires lifting, pulling and carrying of equipment and other objects
- Candidate should be willing to work outdoors, indoors and all-weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of English is required to communicate at workplace.
BenefitsAs per BC Employment standards act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation time or option to choose 10 days of paid vacation with no vacation pay with gross salary.
