Are you a proactive problem-solver who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly? We are looking for a dedicated Building and Facilities Manager to take the helm of our Alberta commercial properties. If you are tired of being just another cog in the machine and want a role where your daily impact is visible and highly valued, this is the opportunity for you.
The Sundance Advantage
At Sundance, we believe that our people are the foundation of our success. We offer a supportive, tight-knit culture where your voice is heard and your expertise is trusted. You are not just managing buildings; you are part of a community that values safety, excellence, and collaboration. We provide competitive compensation, a stable work environment, and a leadership team that genuinely cares about your professional growth and work-life balance.
Why This Role Excites
This position offers the perfect blend of full lifecycle planning, hands-on execution, and tenant relations. It is a fantastic role because you get true ownership over the facility's operations, meaning you can implement your own best practices and see immediate results. Every day brings a new, engaging mix of challenges—from overseeing vendor relationships and planning capital improvements to ensuring top-tier safety standards. You will have the autonomy to make high-level decisions while staying actively connected to the day-to-day life of the building.
Your Core Impact
You will be the heartbeat of our facility's operations, ensuring everything runs efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
- Maintain strong tenant relationships through intuitive, sophisticated, and probing conversations that uncover needs without offending.
- Produce insightful, detailed, and complete facility reports and regular inspections.
- Lead a comprehensive and realistic property budgeting process, actively proposing value-based solutions.
- Opportunistically bill project job hours as appropriate to optimize operational revenue.
- Grow and manage a trusted pool of local contractors, expertly balancing long-term relationships with transaction value.
- Manage contracted jobs by drafting complete job specifications, requesting accurate quotes, and executing thorough progress and final project follow-ups.
What You Bring
We are looking for a leader with a strong mechanical aptitude and a track record in property or facilities management.
- Proven experience managing commercial buildings, systems, and maintenance teams.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building security systems.
- High-level communication and diplomatic skills to collaborate effectively with tenants, management, and vendors.
- A proactive mindset with a talent for financial budgeting, capital planning, and project management.
