Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.

It incorporates shot blasting, stress relieving, fitting, welding, machining, non-destructive testing, final paint, right on through to our own logistics network, resulting in high value finished items across many diverse sectors delivered right to the customer's door.
Role Overview
Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking 1**permanent full-time* (minimum of 40 - 50 hours per week) experienced *Material Handler for day shift.
Southwestern Manufacturing typically operates on rotating shifts of days and afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, and deliver raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and lifts in a safe manner
- Assist production and senior staff with day-to-day material handling and manufacturing tasks
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and manufacturing specifications
- Perform basic grinding, material preparation, and handling tasks as required
- Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and proper identification
- Maintain accurate material flow to support manufacturing operations
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification required)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and lifting devices
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an asset
- 1+ year of material handling (Required)
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience required
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
Working Conditions
- Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, sitting and standing for extended periods.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.
