Job Summary
Fitch Violande, Barristers and Solicitors is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join our professional team. Responsibilities
- Greet clients, visitors, and vendors warmly, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times
- Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and handle message taking efficiently
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using legal management software such as PCLaw and LexisNexis
- Assist with legal research, document drafting, proofreading, and editing to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Support the preparation of legal documents, correspondence, and filings with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems, including client files and case documents
- Conduct basic research as needed to support attorneys’ projects or case preparation
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and interviews while managing calendars effectively
- Handle clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and maintaining office supplies
Skills
- Proven experience in administrative roles with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, PC Law, and Property Online
- Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and legal drafting abilities to produce clear and precise documents
- Strong project management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with data entry, filing systems, and clerical procedures for smooth office operations
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism through excellent phone etiquette and client interaction skills
Education and Requirements
Proof of graduation from a recognized paralegal or legal assistant program.
Clean Criminal Record Check
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience. Candidates with more experience are welcome to submit an application which will be considered for alternative positions.
Pay: $38,000.00-$42,000.00 per year
