Within our organization, the Import or Export Customer Service Assistant Manager is responsible for guiding our teams to provide excellent customer service to our customers. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage workload and staff to meet customer expectations including the understanding of regulatory and company policies, employee training and critical thinking abilities. Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving, and ability to adapt to change are necessary skills for this position.

Job duties (but not limited to):
- Manage daily workload and staff to meet customer expectations and OOCL departmental requirements. Including but not limited to performance, reporting requirements, staff development, etc.

Initiate continual staff training on OOCL guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure high performance standards and staff knowledge.

Manage all exceptions and service recoveries as a first point of contact.

Identify, develop, and adapt best practices.

Understand and ensure ISO/Government/Regulatory requirements are maintained by all staff and recommend actions for continuous improvement.

Represent OOCL at local events and customer visits.
Preferred skills:
- Customer service experience

Experience with Terminal and Rail Operations

Canadian and US Regulatory Transportation Experience (Customs, DOT, Hazardous, etc.)
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of team management experience

3-5 years of Industry experience (Carrier, Freight Forwarder, Broker, Motor Carrier, etc.)

Attention to detail, excellent verbal, and written communications skills and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
The annualized base salary for this position ranges from $77,000.00 CAD to $85,000.00 CAD excluding fringe benefits. If hired at OOCL, the final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we also consider internal equity as part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
