Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math/Science Teacher to inspire and educate students across various grade levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and science, along with experience working with children in educational settings. This is a part-time position offering flexible days and hours. We are open Monday to Saturday, you can choose the days that work best for you. Start time is either 4pm or 5pm. In person in our Scarborough office that has served the community for 29 years.
We create all the lesson plans so no prep is needed on your end.
Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in math and science tailored to diverse student needs.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and observations, providing constructive feedback.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and respect.
- Incorporate technology and computer skills into lesson plans to enhance learning experiences.
- Adapt teaching methods for students with special education needs or learning challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum improvements and participate in school activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings.
- Strong knowledge of math, science, and computer science concepts.
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective teaching strategies and classroom management.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations is a plus.
- Proficiency in computer skills relevant to educational technology tools and resources.
