Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled DZ Driver / Yard Helper to join our team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles, assisting with yard operations, and supporting freight handling activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in forklift and heavy equipment operation such as a boom.
Duties
- Safely operate DZ trucks for freight transportation between locations and within the yard.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklifts.
- Support yard organization by moving, stacking, and securing cargo as needed.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on company vehicles to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of vehicles and equipment before use.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the yard area to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist with general labor tasks around the yard, including material handling and site cleanup.
Requirements
- Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation preferred but can be part of in-house training program.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor tasks.
- Prior experience working in a yard or warehouse environment is a plus.
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
