Project Coordinator / Project Estimator
Location: Halifax, NS | Employment Type: Full-time | Office, Remote & On-Site
Filtrum Infrastructure Inc, headquartered in Calgary, AB, and affiliated with Filtrum Inc from Quebec City, are looking to expand our presence in Halifax.
Since 1980, Filtrum has specialized in engineered water and wastewater treatment systems and environmental infrastructure. We provide leading-edge, cost-effective solutions- from design through to procurement, installation, automation, and commissioning-for both municipal and industrial clients.
Our expertise includes:
- Mechanical process systems for drinking water distribution and wastewater sanitation
- Environmental infrastructure, such as biogas recovery, leachate treatment, and landfill systems
- In-house stainless-steel piping fabrication and advanced automation and instrumentation solutions

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Support:
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications
- Conduct quantity take-offs and help develop cost estimates
- Gather and incorporate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Join pre-bid site visits to assess conditions and support accurate cost assumptions
Project Delivery Support:
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, scheduling, procurement, and logistics
- Help track progress, maintain RFIs, change orders, site documentation, and assist with progress reporting
- Work on-site from temporary site offices during active phases of construction
Health & Safety:
- Promote and practice safety protocols at all times
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety audits, and hazard assessments
- Help ensure all personnel comply with safety procedures and policies
Qualifications
- One (1) to five (5) years experience in Civil, Mechanical or Process Construction.
- Recent graduates of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related technical programs are also encouraged
- Interest in infrastructure construction, estimating, field coordination, and documentation
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office 365
- Familiarity with estimating or project software (an asset)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work arrangement: mix of office, remote, and on-site work
- Travel required; mileage and travel reimbursement provided.
