Job Summary
The Residential AC & Gas Technician is responsible for the installation, replacement, and commissioning of residential HVAC equipment in both new construction and occasional retrofit applications. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, customer service, and teamwork while ensuring all work meets applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and Priority standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install residential air conditioners, furnaces, gas-fired appliances, and related HVAC equipment in new construction and retrofit environments.
- Install, troubleshoot, test, commission, and service gas appliances and HVAC systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, installation manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
- Plan and organize daily work to maximize efficiency and meet project deadlines.
- Ensure all installations comply with applicable building codes, gas codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, gauges, and other required installation equipment.
- Perform quality workmanship while maintaining attention to detail.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and resolve problems efficiently.
- Communicate professionally with customers, builders, site supervisors, and fellow team members.
- Provide updates regarding project progress, delays, deficiencies, or concerns.
- Complete daily paperwork, installation documentation, and timesheets accurately and on time.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in clean and serviceable condition.
- Promote and comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in ongoing training and continuous professional development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work environment.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 60 lbs or more.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, stair use, bending, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive movement throughout the day.
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to dusty, noisy, uneven, and active construction sites.
- Must be able to safely navigate construction environments.
- Required to wear all PPE including work boots, hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, and other required safety equipment.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence.
- Valid G2 Gas Technician Licence (G1 considered an asset).
- Experienced Apprentice or Fully Licensed 313A or 313D
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Previous residential HVAC installation experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

Pay: $22.00-$45.00 per hour
