Sunset Manor is currently seeking a Program Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited LPN program
- Two (2) years’ recent related experience and (2) years of formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration and in good standing with CLHA
- Current CPR certification.
Job Description:
· Be part of the management team and attend monthly Management meetings.
· Participates in the on-going review of the governing standards and in updating policies and procedures for all departments.
· Planning, coordinating or delivering training sessions for the staff in all departments and will have oversight of staff to ensure policy and practice compliance.
· Coordinates and participates in facility audits.
· Direct the Health and Safety Program, Infection Control Program and the Emergency Preparedness Program.
· Responsible for overseeing the MDS Program; ensuring all assessments are completed in a timely fashion, representing the facility at government or AHS meetings, training and ensuring care plans updated and be responsible for submitting data to ACCIS.
· Coordinates the orientation and education programs to ensure continuity of all staff development programs.
· Coordinating and booking educational sessions within the facility and where appropriate in collaboration with the Director of Nursing/Administrator.
· Completes the Criminal Record checks for potential employees using the computer based Backcheck. Practicing discretion and confidentially relating to results.
· Stays abreast of legislation, especially labour legislation, to ensure all managers on the team are kept current and informed. This position will lead and delegate all contingency planning including leading the facility in crisis planning including labour disruptions.
· Will act on the management’s behalf and be involved in collective bargaining negotiations and grievance hearings.
· Designate for the Administrator or Director of Nursing at meetings when the Administrator or Director of Nursing is not available to attend.
· Assists Administrator and takes charge of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
