Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, fostering their development and curiosity. This role involves designing age-appropriate activities and environments, supporting individual needs, and collaborating with families to ensure each child's success. A strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children are essential for this position. We are seeking ELCC Diploma holders who also have experience with Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with our program philosophy, program plan and Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and social development
- Support children's emotional, social, and cognitive growth
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to create personalized learning plans and address individual needs, including working with children with disabilities
- Maintain classroom organization, hygiene, and safety standards at all times
- Incorporate activities that promote creativity, motor skills, language development, and early literacy
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or similar environments.
- Knowledge of childcare practices, child development principles, and early childhood education methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, care for, and engage children in a developmental context.
- Experience working with children who have disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and maintain detailed records accurately.
- Competency in computer operation for documentation, reporting, and resource management purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
