Golden Arrow requires a full-time Licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic and Automotive Mechanic for the Edmonton Location. Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a fleet of Motor Coaches, Industrial Buses, and School Buses. To qualify for the Mechanic position, you must be a reliable self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
Position Requirements:
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Ticket with CVIP
- Automotive Technician
- Valid (or willing to obtain) class 5, 1, 2 or 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and background check
- Shift work required, 12 hours, 7 days on - 7 days off
As a mechanic, your duties are as follows:
- Maintenance/repair of motor coaches
- Keep service trucks, support equipment, and tools in clean and safe operating condition
- Ensure the upkeep and appearance of service truck, parking lot area and parts trailer is maintained
- CVSA Inspections
- Respond to breakdowns
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Evaluates all work in progress to ensure repairs are proceeding in a timely fashion and completed with a high degree of accuracy
- Establish and ensure adherence to maintenance schedule
- Manage Mechanics for shop at site for schedules, payroll etc
- Scheduling services, running repairs and DOT paperwork
- Parts ordering and budgeting within company guidelines
- Must have good organization skills and be able to diagnose and trouble shoot issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Oversee parts / stockroom inventory and parts ordering
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager
Experience:
- Transportation Industry: 4 years (preferred)
License/Certification:
- Heavy Duty Journeyman License (required)
- Automotive Technician License (required)
- Class 1, 2, or 3 license with air breaks (required)
- CVIP License preferred but required for Motor Coach work
Work Location: In person, 20204 111 AVE, Edmonton
Shifts: 7 days on / 7 days off, 12 hours per day
Pay:
- $50/hr with Heavy Duty Journeyman Ticket with CVIP
- $38/hr with Automotive Journeyman Ticket
