Concrete Form Setter

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced Concrete Form Setter for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord is a leading contractor in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in municipal road projects, subdivision land development, parking lots, and other key infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork requirements.
- Assemble, install, and align concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures.
- Ensure formwork is set to specified grades prior to concrete pour.
- Work with concrete finishers, laborers, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently.
- Utilize hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble formwork materials.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality control.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with general site preparation and cleanup as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in concrete form setting.
- Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and drawings a valued asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License preferred; reliable transportation a must
- Familiarity with different types of formwork systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of grades, elevations, and site preparation.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Experience working on municipal road projects, subdivisions, or infrastructure is a valued asset.
Above average pay for Form Setters with 5+ years of gutter/curb experience.
