This is a hands-on role where you'll report directly to the owner and take ownership of the company's accounting function. As the sole Accountant, you'll wear a variety of hats, looking after everything from full-cycle accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, expense claims, and compliance filings. If you enjoy being the go-to person and having visibility across the business, you'll have plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Beyond the day-to-day accounting, you'll also get involved in project accounting, working closely with the engineering team to ensure projects are billed accurately and on time. No two days are exactly the same, and you'll occasionally lend a hand with office administration, making this a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes taking ownership, and thrives in a small business where everyone works together.
Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience within the engineering, construction, or architectural industry, with responsibility for managing the full accounting function.

Strong full-cycle experience, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and GST filing.

Experience with project accounting, job costing, and billing is highly preferred; experience with Deltek Ajera is a strong asset.

Comfortable working independently as the sole accounting professional while partnering closely with the business owner and other departments.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support office administration and build relationships across the business.
