PURPOSE:
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for the day-to-day production of packaged coffee and other products and fulfillment of customer orders. This includes upholding company standards for freshness and condition of packaged goods, efficient workflow and productive work pace. The employee works as part of a team to package coffee products, maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, and to fulfill orders with accuracy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Use equipment to accurately weigh and package coffee in accordance with company standards
· Prepare and label bags according to specifications
· Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments against packing slips or invoices to ensures accuracy when packing shipments
· Packs and secures shipments in bags, boxes or other containers and prepares them for shipment through designated personnel or shipping companies, meeting each shipper’s needs for shipping labels, BOLs, or other documents
· Maintain a clean and orderly workplace, completing equipment and workspace cleaning.
· Follows safety and lifting protocols while on the production floor.
· Any other duties that may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
· Ability to work well with others
· Mathematical skills.
· Ability to communicate in written and verbal forms.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and/or verbal form.
· Ability to reason, make decisions, and use independent judgement in various situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs
· Occasional pushing/pulling of racks/carts weighing 50-250 lbs
· Frequent reaching to various levels and in various directions to move/stack bags, bins, and boxes of product, moving products on and off shelves, tables, and carts
· Possess dexterity for complex hand/eye tasks, including occasional keyboarding
· Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, and twisting and occasional kneeling to stack and or/stock product on shelves
· Frequently required to read written documents or product labels
· Continuous need to hear and verbally communicate with management, staff, customers, and suppliers, either in person or via telephone
· Will occasionally be exposed to hazardous machinery (coffee roaster, forklift), solvents (cleaners, detergents), continuously exposed to dust and frequently exposed to temperature fluctuations.
In addition to the above:
· Periodically required to attend meetings.
· Will periodically need to adjust work schedule to meet the needs of the business, including some nights, weekends, and holidays. Advance notice will be given for this.
