Nick Day Design is an established woodshop specializing in custom, high-end residential millwork and furniture in Toronto. Looking for a Shop Drawing Drafter and Project Coordinator to join our growing team.
Experience in millwork and/or furniture design and fabrication is required. We are a busy, dynamic shop, looking for someone that can jump in and take initiative on projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Correspondence with clients and designers to verify drawing details, materials and revisions
- Produce detailed shop drawings and be able to review plans with the production team
- Order material and hardware for projects
- Coordinate timelines to keep projects on track
Skills required:
- High attention to detail
- Time-management and flexibility: Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Experienced at using SketchUp and Layout is an asset.
- Solid understanding of cabinet and furniture construction, materials and standard hardware
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Able to collaborate with other staff members and the production team. We are a smaller staff of 12-15 people.
