Job Title: Early Childhood Educator
Job Summary:
Mightypals Daycare is seeking passionate, dedicated, and nurturing Early Childhood Educators to join our team in Sylvan Lake, AB. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children from newborns to 12 years old. Our educators play a key role in delivering a play-based, nature-inspired curriculum that encourages exploration, curiosity, and social-emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate, play-based lesson plans in line with Alberta’s Flight Framework curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and independence.
- Observe, document, and assess each child’s growth and development, sharing insights with parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and supportive classroom culture.
- Maintain open, professional communication with families about classroom activities, milestones, and daily routines.
- Support children in developing positive social skills and managing behaviour through proactive, positive guidance techniques.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and teaching practices.
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are followed consistently.
- Adapt activities and learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with special needs.
Requirements:
- Early Childcare Level 2, or 3
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Organizational and time management skills to balance classroom responsibilities, lesson planning, and documentation.
- Leadership qualities to guide and inspire children while fostering independence and confidence.
- Familiarity with special education practices is an asset.
- Proficiency in using computers and digital tools for lesson planning, documentation, and communication.
