Straga Products is a leading provider of high-quality, handcrafted hardwood products. Our commitment to quality and attention to detail has made us a trusted name in the industry. We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team Wood Shop Production Assistant.
Responsibilities:
-Safe set-up and operation of the woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, belt sanders, and shapers, hand tools
- Select and adjust cutting, milling, boring, and sanding equipment and tools for proper completion of the job
- Prepare and sand wooden surfaces at various stages of production
- Sort parts and products according to predefined standards
- Check product dimensions against given production standards
-Prepare finished products for shipping
- Transport raw materials and finished products to the various stations through the workshop manually or by using automatic lifting equipment
- Clean and maintain your station as well as woodworking equipment/shop tools
-Assist with other stages of production as needed
- Prepping materials and supplies for various stages of production.
-Assisting to keep inventory and basic statistic at different stages of production
-Other production duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Team Lead
Personal Characteristics:
- Good eyesight to look for surface imperfections on wooden surfaces
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Must be detail-oriented and comfortable working in a busy environment safely
Qualifications:
- Basic Computer Skills
- Good attendance and positive team attitude
- Must be able to work effectively independently
-Able to communicate effectively in English
- Any relevant experience is an asset
Pay: $18.00 per hour
