Sushi Island is a Japanese restaurant located on Broad St. Bedford, Halifax NS, offering sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, teppanyaki, and other popular Japanese dishes. We are currently seeking a full time server to join our team.
The starting wage is $16.75 per hour, plus tips. Applicants must have a valid SIN number. Previous restaurant experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Responsibilities
Servers
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements
- Serve food and beverages by placing orders on the automated delivery system, and manually deliver items to guests when necessary to ensure timely service.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, tables, and service stations
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, special requests, and resolving concerns professionally
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, but not necessarily, we will provide training.
- Excellent communication skills for serving guests and collaborating with team members
