The City of Port Moody has a regular, full-time opportunity for an Operations Maintenance Worker in Roads & Drainage. This position is responsible for tasks in the areas of road maintenance and construction, drainage and flooding and also performs grass cutting, traffic control and emergency call-out services.
The Operations Maintenance Worker will perform the following duties:
- Patrol storm inlets;
- Control traffic set up and flagging;
- Install and maintain signs;
- Safe operation of snow plow and snow and ice removal;
- Cut grass and sweep;
- Operate large and small equipment;
- Perform road work; and
- Respond to emergency call-outs as well as other special projects and event work.
The Operations Maintenance Worker will require the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 graduation;
- A valid Class 3 BC driver's license with air endorsement;
- Possess minimum one year of labouring experience including machinery operation, truck driving, landscaping, construction, and / or public works;
- Experience and training with small equipment such as weed eater, blower, jackhammer, compactor, pumps;
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination to perform manual work outdoors; and
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and members of the public.
