Job Title: Project Geophysicist – UXO Operations

Position Overview:
Munitions Response Services (MRS) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Geophysicist to lead geophysical operations in support of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) detection and clearance projects across Canada. This hybrid position involves both remote (work-from-home) responsibilities and travel to field sites as required. The successful candidate will oversee data acquisition strategies, conduct QA/QC of incoming field data, conduct data processing, prepare daily QC reports, perform anomaly selection, generate final products and assist with final reporting. You will report to the project manager, lead a small team of Field Geophysicists and collaborate closely with UXO crews to support remediation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate geophysical field operations and data workflows.
- Perform QA/QC of collected data from EM and magnetometer surveys.
- Conduct geophysical data processing, anomaly selection, and target discrimination.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field geophysicists.
- Prepare geophysical work plans and complete daily geophysical QC reports.
- Collaborate with UXO supervisors to support safe and effective anomaly verification.
- Prepare geophysical figures, target maps, and written reports for clients.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols across all operations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in geophysics, geology, or a related geoscience field.
- Hold a valid professional certification from an accredited organization (APGO, APEG, etc...)
- Minimum 5 years of geophysical experience (UXO or environmental preferred).
- Proficient in EM and magnetometer systems and data acquisition principles.
- Understanding of RTK GPS technology and field deployment practices.
- Experience with Oasis Montaj geophysical software is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel to field sites across Canada on a project-by-project basis.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote work environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
